Economic projections are fallible. You don’t need to tell me. The robust pace of GDP growth since the Brexit vote in June has been much cited as further vindication of scepticism of the “experts”. I wouldn’t be so sure. Placidity on the surface is disguising serious structural weaknesses in the UK economy. These will impede advances in living standards in 2017.
