A linha do Douro vai voltar a contar com os 28 quilómetros que ligam a estação do Pocinho até à fronteira com Espanha. A reabertura deste troço é exigida há décadas por autarcas e outras entidades da região do Douro e gerou até uma petição por parte da Liga dos Amigos do Douro Património Mundial.
Em março, a modernização da linha ferroviária do Douro entre Ermesinde e Pocinho e a recuperação do troço até Barca d’Alva já tinha sido confirmada por unanimidade na Assembleia da República. E no decorrer das comemorações dos 20 anos do Alto Douro Vinhateiro como Património Mundial da UNESCO, em Lamego, a ministra da Coesão Territorial, Ana Abrunhosa, reforçou a decisão: “Vamos fazer a linha do Douro. É um desígnio deste território. Mal andariam os governos que não apoiassem o projeto”, declarou a ministra, citada pela TSF.
